HAMILTON: THEN AND NOW

THEN:  This photo (above) was taken in 1960. Located on the corner of King and Hughson stood Kresge Co. Department store. It opened here in 1930 and remained at the top of it's game for many years. By 1994, overshadowed by cheaper discount stores, Kresge Co. sadly closed. 

NOW: The photo below is of what the same building looks like today. Gone is the retail haven where you could grab a coffee and a piece of pie after you shopped. It has been a Kmart, bingo hall, and is currently under review to be demolished to make way for a huge development project.
