THEN: This is Gore Park in Hamilton, Ontario taken in the early 1920s. 

 
Interesting facts:

    1. The park used to be called Gore on King Street.
    2. In the late 1800s, the park had gates and was only open to the public from 7am to 8pm. It was then locked for the night. 
    3. Feeding the birds was banned in 1953 when hordes of starlings took over the park. In 1954, a major shoot was organized and 122 hunters were brought in. They shot 2,500 birds.

 

NOW: This is Gore Park today.....
