Biography
Ethel Rosa Heaven was born on July 13, 1870 in Zacatecas, Mexico. She practiced art and studied while traveling with her family from Mexico to America. On June 14, 1926 she married 39 year old impressionist artist Robert Hamilton (1877-1954). At this time Ethel maintained a studio of her own in Toronto from 1897-1906. She studied under Frederick William MacMonnies (1863-1937) at the prestigious Academie Colarossi in Paris.
Ethel Hamilton nee. Heaven became known for genre, figure and Lithography. She died in New York City in 1965.
