Magdolene Dykstra has exhibited her work in Canada, the U.S.A., the U.K., and Europe. She finds inspiration in the long history of figurative clay sculpture as it has explored the nature of humanity. Previously Dykstra’s work has been concerned with presenting the universal in the individual. Now she is pursuing alternative methods in clay that will allow her to erase the individual while still using the figure as a meaningful object. Dykstra is pursuing her Masters in Fine Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University from 2016 – 2018.
