Josep Juliana Albert was a nineteenth- century Catalan painter attached to the Neapolitan painting school with paintings exhibited, among others, at the Prado Museum in Madrid.
Juliana trained at the Barcelona School of Fine Arts and in the workshop of the painter Josep Serra i Porsón (1828-1910) a clear representative of post-romantic realism very interested in French Rococo and Dutch genre painting and where Juliana specializes in the making of taubleautins directly influenced by the French painter Ernest Meissonier . His first participation in an exhibition is documented in 1866, specifically at the Academy of Fine Arts in Barcelona.
