About:
Frank E. Cavell was born 1909 in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. Frank spent the better part of his school life sketching portraits of little girls in his class. Old textbooks of his are now decorated with faces of school chums. “I was always puttering around with paints and pencils,” he says, “but it didn’t mean much at the time.” Before long he pursued fine arts professionally, and attained his AOCA in Drawing and Painting from the Ontario College of Art in 1936. He has been painting seriously since those formative years, and many of his paintings are displayed in collections across Canada. His style serves to stand the test of time as it is indicative of a Flemish technique from the 17th century.
